MediRemind is a medication reminder and missed-dose alert app for users in the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide or create while using the app:
- Email address, used for sign-in verification, account identification, and important service messages.
- Medication reminder information that you enter, such as medication name, dose, schedule, reminder time, and reminder settings.
- Check-in history, such as whether a scheduled dose was marked as taken or missed.
- Emergency contact information that you manually enter, such as contact name and email address, for missed-dose email alerts.
- Subscription information, including Apple In-App Purchase product identifiers, subscription status, expiration dates, and App Store receipt verification results.
- Basic account settings, such as reminder sound, timeout settings, and notification preferences.
How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Create and manage your MediRemind account.
- Send sign-in verification codes by email.
- Provide medication reminders, reminder settings, and check-in history.
- Send missed-dose email alerts to emergency contacts you have added.
- Verify Apple In-App Purchase receipts and manage Premium subscription access.
- Maintain app security, prevent abuse, and operate the service.
- Respond to support requests.
Apple In-App Purchase
MediRemind uses Apple In-App Purchase for auto-renewable subscriptions. Payments, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and billing details are handled by Apple. We receive and store subscription status and receipt verification results so that we can unlock Premium features in the app.
Emergency Contacts
Emergency contacts are entered manually by you. MediRemind does not read your device address book. If you enable missed-dose alerts, we may send an email alert to the contacts you provide when a dose is not marked as taken within your configured timeout.
Data Storage and Security
MediRemind stores account, reminder, check-in, emergency contact, and subscription data on our server. Data is transmitted using HTTPS. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we use reasonable technical measures to protect your information.
Third-Party Services
MediRemind may use the following services to operate the app:
- Apple App Store and StoreKit for subscriptions and receipt validation.
- Email delivery services for sign-in verification codes and missed-dose email alerts.
- Cloud hosting providers to run the MediRemind backend service and database.
MediRemind does not use third-party payment methods for digital subscriptions and does not sell your personal information.
Data Retention and Account Deletion
We keep your information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. You can delete your account in the app from Settings. Account deletion removes your account and related MediRemind data, including medications, check-ins, settings, and emergency contacts, from our active service database.
Your Choices
- You can update or delete medication reminders and emergency contacts in the app.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
- You can delete your MediRemind account in the app.
- You can contact us for support or privacy questions.
Children's Privacy
MediRemind is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
